Commissioning an original portrait
Thank you for your interest in owning an original artwork by Rebecca Tamar Anderson.
Our commission process begins with a phone consultation to discuss subject matter, size, composition, and other elements of your portrait. All paintings will be done on 100% cotton hand-splined canvas with a 1.5” Gallery profile unless otherwise discussed.
The next step is our first meeting and photo session, when I will get to know the subject and take many digital photos at your location of choice in the Southern NH area. This session will take no more than an hour. At a second face-to-face meeting (which can be scheduled for the same day as the first meeting), I will present 5 to 10 photos that work best as references for a successful portrait. We will discuss these photos together and I will help you select your favorite composition and pose. At this meeting we will also review and sign the contract and I will collect your deposit.
At this point, I am ready to begin painting your portrait! Paintings take 8-12 weeks to complete, including drying time. When the painting is nearing completion, you will receive an emailed photograph to review. At this time, small changes and alterations can be made based on your feedback. All paintings are unframed and will be hand-delivered to ensure their safety.
